Fight Club
Are you looking for a few good men committed to a fighting alongside you as you strive to become the man you want to be? Fight Club, our men’s support & accountability group, meets every Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 at NewLife. Whether you’re dealing with personal or work issues, addictions, faith challenges, or just looking for other men who will challenge and encourage you to become the man you want to be, Fight Club is a welcoming and non-judgmental place for you to share your life experiences, struggles, and hopes.
The first 30 minutes of Fight Club includes a reminder of the Rules of the Ring (see below), a brief discussion of a Bible passage, and introductions. The final 60 minutes is Open Forum, where anyone is free to share about what is going on in their life, and the rest of us give feedback, encouragement, and challenge as needed. All men are welcome to share, and no topic is off limits.
The Rules of the Ring include:
1) Come honest or don't come at all - there is no room for posers or pretenders. Come with your real issues if you want to see real progress.
(2) Progress, not perfection – the goal is progress, so come ready to get rid of your burdens and receive encouragement towards growth
(3) Fight for each other, not against each other – we do not bash others for their struggles, but we encourage and challenge one another to be the men we know we can be
(4) Grace, not law – our self-worth is not a matter of performance, but is found in being a child of God
(5) Confidentiality – what is said in the ring stays in the ring
